Construction Update — January 16, 2025

Diagram of campus construction as January 15, 2025

Grant Ave sidewalk is open to the corner of Frankford where there is still ongoing construction.

The main campus entrance on Frankford Ave and Stevenson Lane will remain under construction for several weeks as well as the side of Stevenson Lane between NEB and St. Joes. The corner of Grant and Frankford will also remain under construction for the new monumental signs.

Sidewalks are currently closed at the main entrance and are anticipated to reopen in February. There may be traffic disruptions while trucks load and unload materials and when equipment is relocated.

Please be alert for heavy machinery and large dump trucks in the areas during the day.

Students, Faculty, Staff and Campus Visitors should be prepared for increased traffic and congestion on Campus during peak times.

All work is subject to weather conditions and all closures will follow PennDOT’s prescribed plan.

Multimodal Project

Work has begun on the Multimodal project, which will provide beautiful new entryways for Holy Family University's main entrance to the campus.

Rendering of the Multimodal project on HFU's Philadelphia campus

Heavy construction related to the Multimodal project is scheduled to begin the week of November 10. The scope of this project will include:

  • Replacing all of the curbing and sidewalks on the perimeter of campus along Grant and Frankford Avenues
  • Installation of a new ADA compliant drop-off area along Stevenson Lane near St. Joseph Hall
  • Installation of monument signage at the main entrance to the University at Stevenson Lane along Frankford Avenue
  • Installation of monument signage at Frankford and Grant Avenues
  • Upgrades made to the traffic signals at Stevenson Lane and Frankford Avenue as well as Frankford and Grant Avenues
  • Replacement of the chain-link fence north of Stevenson Lane along Frankford Avenue

Community members are advised to allow extra time when traveling to and from campus as backups and delays will occur. All scheduled construction is weather dependent.
